V. on coffee & the International New York Times

I think I really do dislike the International New York Times. I don’t know why I still buy it. / I buy it pretty much every weekend and am disappointed by it pretty much every weekend. / it is such an attractive newspaper, — colour pictures and beautiful typography and those long, sleek articles neatly tucked into their proper places, in the way that Nazi Germany was dreadful and beautiful — but inside those articles are some of the most arbitrary, misinformed, platitudinous and misdirected content which seems much more interested in defending and circlejerking for their readership than reporting on difficult subjects, or telling controversial truths. . . . / in other news, I’m very much enjoying a ginger latté made by my favourite barista in one of my favourite coffee houses on a very lovely day
